Am I going against my Christian faith when I patronize seeking fortune telling?

I am a Roman Catholic and don't know much about my faith yet.

I have been consulting a local and trusted tarot reader for quite some time now. she made some really starting predictions and some eventually came to pass. I believed in her powers ever since. The only concern I had is when a friend came over and told me that it is actually sinful to consult one? How true is this? Thanks.
