| Answers: What`s a good excuse to "disappear" for 5 days? I need to be out of town from the 4th till the 8th of September. I am going to a spiritual retreat. It is very important for me but nobody else would understand: boss, life partner etc...Lying is clearly not one of my principles. On the other hand I don`t want to miss the event. I already paid all fees anyway. But the inner experience is what matters to me the most. I don`t want to lose my job or to fight with my man. For various reasons they cannot understand my need and interest for spirituality. However we are all free to decide for ourselves. So what`s a good excuse to "vanish" for few days? And is it ethical to lie for the sake of the truth? |

| At times we also need to have give special moment for our own selves so that we can reflect the things that we need to prioritize and of course to relax. I truly believe in the power of spiritual retreats to transform the lives of people. It is a good way of enlightenment and strengthens my faith that whatever challenges may come by I will be able to overcome it. |
| It is important that we do take a break once a while. What is wrong with having a vacation? You can just a relaxing vacation somewhere that is quiet. I am sure you can have all of the stress and the worries away from your system. Every time I feel depressed and stressed out, I see to it that I go for a vacation. Thanks a lot and good day. |
| Your boss I can understand but if this is that important to you but you feel you have to lie to your partner, the real question might be are you with the right partner? I reckon though a good excuse for the boss is attending a wedding for a family member far away and for your partner, tell them you need to go on a business trip. You'd be lying your face off but if going to this event is that important then this could be an option. |
| Excuse? for 5 days? where are you planning to go. It is bad to reason out when you not telling the truth. I am really not familiar of the things that I can actually suggest on you. you tell some one about the spiritual matter you are up to and I bet, he or she will really understand. There are certain time in your life that you need to unwind, and this is a best example. |
