Abusive roommate, what do I do?

Thank author of this post/commentI follow Dr. Wayne Dyer's affirmations. Here is his latest one and it really applies to what I'm going through at this moment.

I believe this is very true, and am doing better at it. However, I must still be doing something wrong. I live with my very best friend, who use to be kind and loving. Now she has become VERY mentally abusive. I'm doing better about remaining calm when she screams at me and calls me names, but it still gets me upset. I know that her actions and what she thinks of me is none of my business, but should I just give in to her and give her what she wants of me? I have told her how she appears to me, but she always comes back with it being my fault that she acts that way. Talking to her seems totally useless. I am at my wits end. I thought about just giving her what she wants, but wonder if that will just promote her to do it more, thinking that that is the only way she will be able to get me to do what she wants? Or should I stand up to her and tell her that I'm not going to take any more abuse from her and not give her what she wants because of the way he has been treating me, and won't until she starts treating me better? I want to keep at peace and have peace within our roommate situation, but not at the cost of my sanity. I know that I am giving her consent to upset me, but how do I stop it? It's easier say than done. If anyone can help me please, I beg of you, do.
