Answers: Are the Spiritual Gifts still accepted in today's church?

Thank author of this post/commentI strongly believe in the Gifts of the Spirit are still very prevalent today because Ive seen healing and speaking in tongues with my own eyes, Ive seen prophesying over people and seen it help to better them. I feel like though when i talk about the spiritual gifts listed in 1 Cor 12-14 with some people from certian denominations they totally shut down to it because its almost like they've been taught to believe that stuff like that is from the devil or something... when God clearly said the Gifts of the Spirit are solely to edify the Body of Christ. Is it just me or is it very true that some denominations are not accepting to the gifts of the Spirit? What caused it to be this way?
