Article: How to Attain Internal Peace

Thank author of this post/commentThe dictionary defines internal peace as: having to do with or situated inside of the body; of relating to, or existing within the mind. Peace is defined as: a state of calm and quiet; freedom from disturbing thoughts; and an agreement to end hostilities. For the purpose of this article I will combine these two notions and define internal peace as: the integration of our thoughts and feelings culminating in a state of tranquility and harmony. One of the most important keys for this tranquility and harmony or 'peace of mind' as it is often called, is to honour our emotional nature and find methods to express feelings in appropriate ways that allow us to release them.

Though I agree greatly with the various intellectual ways to attain internal peace, I do believe that at the heart of true peace is the connection with your maker, whether you are Christian (as I am) or Muslim, Jewish, or any other faith who believes in a Creator, getting in touch with the maker of the universe is the key to attaining true peace. All these other external methods are simply a way of enhancing and recognizing that peace.

We all need spiritual enlightenment. I believe that taking time to relax through meditation will somehow give you the chance to listen to yourself and reflect on things you did in the past. As for me, acceptance of one's self is an important factor to reach enlightenment. Let our spirit be guided with prayers and be grateful for every blessing bestowed on us. Thank you for sharing the post.

That is so true. It is important that we do consider getting a relaxed time for ourselves and be enlightened, spiritually. But well, I think having that internal peace would definitely vary on each individual. And one way would be to do meditation.

There are good tips on being enlightened and acquire internal peace. However, it depends on us, on how we are to have that inner peace we have been longing for.
