Why would anyone want to fight like an animal inside a cage? - Spiritual Development
| Why would anyone want to fight like an animal inside a cage? Surely the martial arts should be a path of improvement, development and enrichment that takes us to a better place and involves a spiritual, philosophical dimension. Sticking human beings inside a cage is degrading, disgusting and repulsive. It stinks of the Roman Coliseum and other primitive and barbaric eras, have we not evolved beyond this? |
| The so-called cage match as in the first movie of Spiderman is some sport that I also don't approve of. It does pattern itself after the Gladiator matches long ago. I also don't understand why people play a sport like that or why even people watch it. Man's animal or blood thirsty instincts? |
| "Well... I dunno ... "
Hmm.. I do not really know what you are referring to; but there are people who enjoy bloodthirsty sport like that. It somehow satisfies the sadist within them. somehow, I cannot think of sports in relation to spirituality... sport is hardly fun anymore unless you are playing with the neighbors' kids. Today, sport is full of tension, uncertainties, politics, and what not. |
| You can't really changed what tradition has established. This could either be a good or bad thing, in this case (or probably in your case) you tend to view it on a negative perspective. There are people who enjoy seeing blood, cage fights, and dangerous sports even at the comforts of their own living room. It can be a way to release out their stress or calm man's natural violent nature for in the end it is better to route for a fighter inside a cage than doing committing domestic violence inside a similarly caged area, one's home. |
| Hi there! I haven't seen anyone yet who are fighting in a cage, maybe in movie. But When I ask one of my friends if it is really true he said yes. In some countries they do it because of their tradition some do it for fun. There are people who loves to see bloods. |
| I am not that into this kind of sports if you call that sports. I have strange feelings when I see those fights on television. Like in UFC, where there fighters, the marital artists fight on a cage. My husband would watch this all the time and when I ask him why does he watch those kind of shows, he just said that it gives him thrills and entertainment. Maybe people just have different taste on everything. |
