Binaural Beats - Music
| Binaural BeatsFor those of you who don't know, binaural beats work by broadcasting two separate frequencies in each ear. For example, if you want to tune your brain to a 7 Hz frequency, you could play 200 Hz in your right ear, and 207 Hz in your left ear. The brain will compensate for the difference between the two and produce a third tone that will be exactly 7 Hz. This will result in your brain frequency being lowered to the theta level of 7 Hz which is a level of consciousness we experience when we are relaxed and borderline sleep, and/or this state of consciousness is experienced consciously during meditation. Under ideal conditions it will take about 6 minutes for your brain to become entrained to the desired frequency. But more often you may need to listen to binaural beats for about 30 minutes to an hour a day for some time before your brain builds new pathways, and you experience the benefits. Some people prefer to listen to plain binaural beats but others like binaural beats embedded into ambient music or nature sounds, as well as chimes and crystal bowl sounds. |
| That sounds pretty stupid to me man.. What are you talking about. |
| that website had some good info. but i still need more. do you know of another website on this issue? |
| What the heck are you guys talking about on this forum? It is suppose to be about Music, and I do not know what the heck y'all is talking about. |
| The only time ambient music and nature sounds are useful are when they're used in some sort of spa. I'm still waiting for the Jungle sounds CD that has a jaguar killing some kind of animal. Wouldn't be relaxing but it would be funny if that ended up on a CD |
| Binaural, hmm! Auras, I have heard about them I do not doubt that by generating brain waves we create nice auras. You all know that you can get to actually see auras, right? You can get them from music, I think. |
| Well, I would not simply rubbish what I do not really know much about. It thrills me that there is some use of science in the whole thing. It also sounds interesting that the brain would produce a third tone to compensate for the difference in frequency in both ears. C'mon, does that not sound nice? It is interesting though to imagine that the brain lowers to a lower frequency |
| More of Binaural Beats Binaural beats or binaural tones are auditory processing artifacts, or apparent sounds, the perception of which arises in the brain independent of physical stimuli. This effect was discovered in 1839 by Heinrich Wilhelm Dove. The brain produces a phenomenon resulting in low-frequency pulsations in the loudness of a perceived sound when two tones at slightly different frequencies are presented separately, one to each of a subject's ears, using stereo headphones. A beating tone will be perceived, as if the two tones mixed naturally, out of the brain. The frequency of the tones must be below about 1, 000 to 1, 500 hertz for the beating to be heard. The difference between the two frequencies must be small (below about 30 Hz) for the effect to occur; otherwise, the two tones will be heard separately and no beat will be perceived. |
| These beats, sort of remind me of those illusions in old, creative books that we see, in which images are embedded inside of images. It is when one looks at a picture directly in front of their face, then by pulling their head slowly away, they get a much altered image amidst the one that they had already been viewing. |
| I have not heard of such thing or such word like that before. It kinda intrigued me knowing that there is a certain kind of sound that could actually makes people relaxed. How can this be done? I guess there should be more post to come here for us to know more about binaural music. Thanks for informing us about that kind of beats. Ciao.. |
| Hi there guys. I also had never heard of such beat until now. I wonder how this phenomenon was done. Can it be done to all individuals or are there any physical requirement for a certain person to hear this kind of beats. I also need to know how this binaural beats be heard. Thanks a lot and have a good day everyone. |
| I also have to ask the same question, can anyone produce the said beats? I am quite intrigued by this term and would like to know more about it. I am looking for a way to lessen stress and to ease my mind with all of the problems that are coming my way, and since I love listening to music, I find this binaural beats perfect for me. Waiting for some ideas here. |
| Hi there guys. I am also interested about the said beats. I am thinking about how this binaural beats works, just like everybody else here. I am thinking if this binaural beats would work for me and would there be any good effect for me and would I be relieved from stress? Have a great day guys and keep all of those posts coming in. Thanks a lot. Keep safe.. |
| "binaural beats"
I have actually used binaural beats for years. They are nothing new but I think just gaining popularity. They are the only thing I have tried that can almost instantly calm me down if I am feeling stressed out or nervous. They also greatly help with getting a good nights sleep. The website below gives tons of information as to their history and specific details on their use and safety. |
| "Binaural Beats - Research, and Best Uses"
Hi, Binaural beats are in theory a way of designating a mental state - relaxation, meditation, sleep etc. They work because the brain produces a wave which is the difference between the two frequencies heard by the two ears; if one ear is presented with 20hz and the other 27 Hz then the brain produces a wave of the difference - 7Hz. I have been researching and using binaural beats for nearly a decade, and have written a review of research into binaural beats as well. There have been limited studies into how effective they are when used for relaxation, and some studies prove that they work and some don't. What was interesting was that the studies that say binaural beats don't work were just pilots, using four test subjects, and were flawed in many ways. The use of binaural beats varies widely, they can have multiple layerings or just one, they can be produced at different pitches, they can be masked or heard, used with music or guided meditation/relaxation. Many of the so called studies into this phenomenon do not specify exactly what subjects are listening to. I believe that combined with guided relaxation or hypnosis, and gentle music, that binaural beats help relax the listener and can make the hypnosis more effective. I also find that many of those who listen to my downloads and CDs fall asleep while listening - so I believe they are great for stress and insomnia. |
| "Binaural Beats Do Work"
I heard all the buzz about binaural beats a while ago, and was curious, to be honest. All these kids getting high . . . yeah right. Anyway, I looked into these things can read some real research papers on how they can help you with stuff like anxiety and sleep problems, both of which I have always suffered from. I bought stuff from a lot of places but some are way more effective than others. I found that the binaural beats with music or nature sounds in the background worked for me. Well, I have been listening to binaural beats for 30 mins a day , every day, for over two years now, and I am pretty much anxiety free. You just have to find the best binaural beats out there. The good ones are well worth the money, you just have to make sure you listen to them a lot. |
