| Answers: What does your chosen System (please indicate religion) think about Don In his introduction to JOURNEY TO IXTLAN: The Lessons of Don Juan, UCLA anthropologist, Dr. Carlos Castaneda relates how the Nagual Juan Matus advised his friend's "naughty boy" should be disciplined. Firstly, he stopped Carlos Castaneda from going into detail about the boy's "terrible behavior;" he insisted they did not have to speak, nor even THINK about it any more. Were he a Warrior, Don Juan, said that he should have him *STOP THE WORLD.* Since he was not a Warrior, nor a Sorceror, and had no *Personal Power, * the Nagual said he would have to use "ordinary methods." Namely, he should first hire the ugliest skid row bum available to beat the kid up (sic), and lead him into that ambush. After the beating, he was to help the boy regain his self-confidence any way he could. Finally, he was to find a way to get him to where he could touch- anywhere but the belly- another child his age who was dead. These techniques, Don Juan said, would change the boy. Being a spiritual person, I immediately understood the Divine Principles involved. What do those of your system understand? |
