| What is hypnosis?As I understand it, hypnosis is some sort of method for someone taking over somebody else.But how does this work? Is it that our mind is prone to being enslaved by someone? If so, then we have a real problem, man. But there seem to be other aspects to this, on the physical side of things. Once I saw a theater show where a hypnotist appeared and asked for people to come up on stage. I remember this kid that quickly succumbed to the hypnotist. He was told to place his hand against the wall and that he would not be able to remove it. Well, I saw that guy struggle to get his hand back, and nothing! Until the hypnotist told him, he was unable to remove his hand. Somebody, tell me what happened! GOd bless you all! |
| Hypnosis is a heightened state of suggestibility. It makes your body relax. Long time ago, it is used as a kind of therapy for relaxation. A person would be hypnotized if he agrees to be hypnotized. So there is nothing to worry about unless you want to hypnotize. I hope that people would not use this for their own greedy interest. This would cause other people to misunderstand the implication of hypnosis. Have a nice day! |

Hypnosis is being in a state where the subconscious mind receives suggestions without being filtered (through the conscious). A person still would not do anything against any true values or beliefs held in the subconscious mind. Hypnosis has a lot of misconceptions and does not make a person do things they would regret. |

I am a hypnotist, but I don't do stage hypnosis. I use a technique that takes a person into a light, waking trance at the alpha brain wave stage. It feels like you're still awake, so often people wonder if they have imagined their responses. I ask ordinary questions during the session, and I have a consultation before and after the session to help the person in the process. I have hypnotized an entire room full of people at the same time. Some of them just go to sleep during the relaxation part of the process. If you want a good explanation of hypnosis, go to the website of Henry Bolduc. I learned the technique that I use from Dr. Chet Snow, who wrote Mass Dreams of the Future. Also, Dick Sutphen is a very good hypnotist and has a website called Valley of the Sun. The Silva method also has a self-hypnosis training program. I like Henry Bolduc's site because he shares a lot of information free of charge and really wants to help people. Chip Allen has an excellent training program for hypnotherapists. It's probably a little pricey, but a person can obtain quality training that concludes with certification. A good hypnotist does not want to control someone else and serves as a facilitator. |
