| This is the first time that I came across the Hypnosis World Summit. Isn't it dangerous to do hypnosis and to be hypnotized? My impression is that you will be put under some sort of spell when you're hypnotized. Once you're under that spell, the person who hypnotized you can ask you all sorts of questions and make you do all sorts of things that may be against your will. But then, maybe I just watch too much tv and movies and that's not how it's done at all. |
| Hi there! That is actually true Frances. When you are hypnotized, you tend to do some things against your will. This should be done with professionals because this can be dangerous. | I think it is not safe to do hypnotism without the guidance from those who really knows the in and out of this practice. I myself is scared to try it by myself alone and with someone who do not know how to do hypnosis properly. But anyway, thanks to hypnosis, lots of people are getting cured with their psychological and mental illnesses. Have a great day to all. ciao. |
| There are a lot of people most especially teenagers who would love to get an adventure through Hypnosis. But I also agree that it is important to ask guidance from an expert on this if you want to hypnotized or to be hypnotized. You might not be able to perfectly do the procedure and it might affect the person. At times, we are not aware that if we insist to alter our state of consciousness, it can lead us to danger. |
| As far as I know, hypnosis is a state of relaxation and concentration of one person in heightened state of suggestibility. It was used long time ago to cure diseases and to relax. My psych professor once told us that persons who are hypnotized are those persons who are also willing to be hypnotized. It is just a misconception that we are being controlled fully because naturally we can be aware of our actions. I find hypnosis world summit 2010 exciting! |
