 "Response to the Original Post"
Like many of the dreams that we look at, this one has at least a couple of possible interpretations.It may be that these dogs represent actual people. Although many animals can represent people, dogs are more common than most other animals. Dogs often symbolize less developed people. However, I have also noticed that many of our dreams have mythological themes. This is because the contents of these dreams and many mythological stories both come from the depths of the collective unconscious. With this in mind, the two dogs may represent a mythological beast named Orthrus (or Orthus). According to Wikipedia, he was a two-headed dog who, with his master Eurytion, guarded “Geryon's herd of red cattle in the ‘sunset’ land of Erytheia (‘red one’)….” In the dream, the two dogs are at the side of the brow and the top of the head. Thus, they have something to do with these parts of the dreamer’s body. I’ll cut to the chase and get to the point. I believe that the dogs are guarding the sixth and the seventh chakras. More specifically, they are guarding the two entrances of a tunnel. In the study of kundalini, the journey from the sixth to the seventh chakra has been described as being like a tunnel. You have reached a stage where you are very close to making this journey. Good Job! The red color in the myth of Orthrus initially threw me for a loop. This is because red has traditionally been associated with the first chakra. But, I did find some support for the red color at the sixth chakra. As shown in the link below, an image of the sixth chakra shows its reddish color. Hope this helps. |
