The root chakra is located at the base of the spine, and is concentrated towards; Being grounded with the earth, survival tactics, and stillness of the mind and body. This chakra grounds us to the physical world and contains the knowledge and information of creation and are the only primary eight cells that do not change in ones lifetime. The color of the root chakra is red. In the Paleolithic period of cavemen, the lessons and level of chakra one were gained. We were subject to the extreme conditions of the earth while tribes were in their nomadic state of mind roaming the earth living in caves. The beginning of this age is rather unfathomable, though, it’s foundation is survival instinct.

The second chakra is the spleen chakra and is the color orange. This chakra is located right underneath the navel and is connected to our sexual and reproductive capacities. Any blockage in this area manifests as sexual guilt and emotional problems. The dawn of the second age related to the energies of the chakra system occurred around 10-8, 000 BCE(before common era). This era coincides with the astrological age of Cancer, and was tagged by the agricultural revolution and travel by water through the introduction of ship building. This age was one of great cultural creativity.

The third energy center in our body is located at the top of the abdomen and is the color yellow. The solar plexus chakra is the seat of emotions, this chakra gives one a sense of self-awareness and personal strength in this world. Any blockage in this energy center manifests as a sense of apathy or anger. The age in which the third chakra coincides with is the age of Pisces around 1500 BCE. Warlike aggression and hierarchical domination flourished during this period by patriarchal forces. With the use of fire, the individuals of the day could make weapons, tools, and weld or forge metals. Male sky gods replaced the previous female earth goddesses, and turned worship towards the skies. With the presence of domination and persecution creates the need for personal and overall collective power. This state of existence still continues to this day, especially with the advancements in technology and sophisticated weaponry.

The fourth chakra is the heart chakra, and is the color green. Blockage in this area is very detrimental to the health and wellbeing of the individual. If blockage is experienced in this energy center, it manifests as immune system damage and or heart problems. The most common expression of blockage in this energy center is a lack of compassion. The heart chakra is associated with love, compassion, and overall well-being. This energy center is known as the seat of the soul. We are in the late stages of the age of the third chakra, presently entering the age of the fourth. Power and control are the motivators of the “elite” of this world presently, as much is out of balance. The fourth age of the heart chakra will being all archetypal factors into balance. The mind will no longer be favored over the body, white will no longer be favored over black, technology will no longer be favored over the eco system, males will no longer be favored over females. Everything will come into balance, the golden ratio.

The blue throat chakra is the fifth energy center of the body, and is tied to creativity and communication. The location of this chakra is in the throat and is where we experience the zymology of the world through vibrations, for example the sounds produced from our vocal chords in the form of language. The characteristics of this chakra are creative identity, sound, and orientation towards self-expression. The sixth chakra is one depicted in many sci-fi cartoons and shows as the third eye on the forehead of a character. The pineal chakra is connected to the pineal gland at the base of the brain, and is a physical eye with the ability to view upwards. The characteristics of this energy center are dreams, ones imagination, physic abilities including; clairvoyance, clairaudience, and clairsentience. This chakra is also related to understating of the archetypal levels of the “unknown”. When this energy center is clear, it allows one to “see” the bigger picture in life.

The final energy center of the body is known as the crown chakra. The crown chakra is located directly above the head. This chakra connects one with the higher realms and will be experienced first as pressure at the top of ones head. Ecstasy, bliss, thought, self-knowledge orientation, understanding, and a spiritual connection with god are all characteristics of this energy center. The crown chakra relates to full awareness of self and others. When this energy center is fully developed, one attains the level of a master. Meditation and soul seeking are the foundational tools to allow one to balance all chakra centers and achieve full conscious awareness.

What are Chakras?

The word 'chakra' is derived from a Sanskrit word meaning 'wheel'; but perhaps even a better translation would be spinning wheel. If you could see chakras (as many of us whom work with them do) you would be able to see each primary chakra as a spinning vortex or wheel of energy; spinning inward from the front of your body towards the center point of that chakra on the kunilini and then spinning outward from that same point from your back.

There are seven chakras. A chakra is a spinning wheel of etheric energy. They are the bridges of the spiritual world were energy can travel through us. Each chakra has unique qualities. Each chakra see's the world differently. Each chakra is associated with specific emotions, colors, scents, and sounds (frequencies). Here is a brief overview of the seven chakras:

Root Chakra - red, survival

Sacral Center - Orange, pleasure

Solar Plexus - Yellow, Power

Heart Chakra - green and pink, love

Throat Chakra - Light blue, creativity and communication

Third Eye - Indigo, insight and visions

Crown Chakra - Violet and white, Spirituality

As long as you live your chakras cannot be closed but if one or more chakra is weak then you will not perceive reality in a holistic way. You will feel somewhat empty, like your life is missing something. Feelings of fear, repression, victimization, self esteem issues may result.

If a chakra is over active this will cause an imbalance as well. Excessive feelings such as anger can result.

HOW TO BALANCE THE CHAKRAS

There are mirriad ways of strengthening and balancing the chakras. This includes the use of crystal, aromatherapy, color therapy, intension, sounds, yoga, tai chi, and visualization.

I have personally found all of these great ways to balance and exercise the chakras. The most direct way I believe is visualization in conjunction with meditation. If you don't meditate already I would highly recommend it. Meditation can release stress, increase creativity, increase confidence, attract people into your life, gain insight, help you achieve lucid dreams (you know are dreams and can control the occurrence of the dream), out of body experiences, and increase your connection with the earth, God, the source, the universe, and your higher self. If you don't believe in God, then do it anyways because you will experience something profound and you don't need to call it God. Call it love or energy.

HOW TO ENHANCE THE CHAKRAS THROUGH VISUALIZATION:

Lay or sit down in a comfortable position. Preferably in a quite room that you feel relaxed in.

Close your eyes and focus on your breath.

Thoughts will arise, but simply watch them do not participate in them. Still focus on your breath.

Breath in slowly but comfortably for five counts, then breath out for ten counts. Do this for several minutes. This will bring you to a theta state.

You know you're in theta when your body is very relaxed and you feel like your in a different realm or dreamstate; Everything has slowed down and become spacious.

Inhale and visualize white energy entering the crown of your head and traveling down your spine until it reaches your tailbone.

Exhale and visualize the white energy traveling from you tailbone to the cown of your head and far passed your head. repeat this five to ten times.

Inhale and imagine the white energy entering your body from your crown again, traveling through your spine all the way down to your tailbone. Imagine it collecting as a glowing ball of white energy, slowly growing to about the size of a softball. When you've inhaled all that can, hold your breath for a few seconds and imagine the white ball of radiating energy slowly become red.

Exhale and imagine red energy traveling up your spine passed your crown. Do this until you feel intense energy near your tail bone. This is the root chakra.

Do the same for each chakra. Breathe in white energy from your crown to your tailbone and then up each chakra, one at a time.

My experience with chakras has been a massive journey of growth and awakening. I have transformed my subtle (spiritual) energy so profoundly that sometimes I can't even believe it. I am filled with joy and love and peace. I used to be a troubled child with issues you couldn't even imagine. Issues of isolation, self hate, hate towards the universe, hate toward nearly everyone. I was in constant state of fear, frustration, and bitterness. All that changed. Now I am happy, upbeat, social, loving, and friendly. I try to help people find joy in themselves by being positive and understanding. I don't really judge anyone, and it's an awesome life to have. I attribute most if not all of this to chakra healing. Not just through meditation, crystals, and such, but through conscious intension. Attitude is EVERYTHING. If you haven't started working on your chakras, start TODAY!!! You will be grateful!!!! Just remember that you are part of God (the universe). You are an incredible human being! This is a journey, and I wish you the best EVER! I LOVE YOU :)
